I enjoy Murray Perahia's playing and have admired him over the years. This recording is very beautiful, although it did take me a while to get used to piano in the Brandenburg and Triple Concerto. I am not a harpsichord purist (far from it). While many of Bach's concertos transfer easily from harpsichord to piano, it is a difficult transition here. But like all things, it just takes getting used to and after a few listens I find it delightful. What makes that possible is Periah's sensitive and informed playing. He clearly loves Bach and communicates that in his exquisite performance.
